Pet Grief – a new kind of creative therapy
Postad i English av Cecilia Franck den 6 december, 2011During December you can see the exhibition Pet Grief in our window gallery (opposite of the new ”Domkyrkoforum”). It’s the work of graphic artist Johan Stenbeck’s soft fantasy creatures. The exhibition runs until January 1st 2012.
”Inspiration is vital. Therefore, we use our windows to inspire ourselves and people passing by outside. We love Johan’s exciting expressions and invited him to a meeting which gave unexpected but inspiring results”, says Maria Esaiasson, gallery manager at Södra Esplanaden – creative studio.
In 2009 Johan Stenbeck started to work on the textile creations for the exhibition Pet Grief. The creative process worked as thearpy.
”For me, the physical objects are strongly attached to my own memories, emotions, dreams and nightmares during a difficult time in my life”, says Johan Stenbeck.
Johan Stenbeck was born in Karlskrona, but lives and works as a freelance graphic designer and artist in Malmö. He studies graphic design at Östra Grevie Folkhögskola and works a lot with drawing and illustration. Read more about Johan on his website and blog.

Since I started to work for them I’ve written over 40 pieces about questions concerning sexuality and identity in people’s everyday life.
In a collaboration together with Anna, Lasse and Pontus here at Södra Esplanaden I now also have a fancy portfolio homepage.

Engström & Engström and THE LARS™
Postad i English av Simon Fransson den 13 mars, 2010THE LARS™. is a high-end tube amplifier produced by Engström & Engström.
We’re proud to have assisted Engström & Engström to brand both their main trademark – THE LARS™. – as well as their own brand, Engström & Engström.
The product is both technically advanced and carefully designed – we just wanted to strengthen those attributes. The visual identity only joins the attributes of the products with these strengths in case of colors, forms and typography. The design model in this case is a typical ”old-word-royal-Swedish”.

It also has a unique function for tracking your friends’ movements in realtime.
Simon developed Tweetspotting together with Måns Severin. Fint out more at tweetspottingapp.com.
